The incredible Garde-Canal trail

Less than 10 minutes from the campsite, the village of Quinson is the starting point for one of the most beautiful hikes in the region: the canal guard trail. This walk suspended above the water is a must-do during your stay.

The route: This trail runs alongside the old Verdon canal, built under Napoleon III. The route is spectacular but remains accessible (little elevation gain).

You will walk on old stone walls, cross footbridges and even pass under small tunnels carved into the rock.

Key strengths:

  • The view: Panoramic views overlooking the turquoise waters of the Basses Gorges.
  • The Sainte-Maxime cave: A short climb takes you to a chapel nestled in a cave, offering breathtaking views.
  • The coolness: Much of the path is sheltered by the cliff and forest.
